Just trying to import a mix of .mp4 and mov files from my iPhone but it crashes nearly every time. Is there a fix without having to convert each mov file?
Vegas does not support MOV files natively. From past experience, you could download the QuickTime player. This seems to complete the codecs array in Vegas and solve the problem, but there are some infos like this one, and some :
My Canon G15 pocket camera records AVC and PCM in a MOV wrapper and I've happily edited video from it with Vegas Pro 13 and later. I've rarely had Quicktime loaded except when I worked with other codecs in a MOV wrapper.

Playing the odds here, since you seem reluctant to provide the requested file details:
.MOV files from iPhone 12 and up are almost always Variable Frame Rate.
Vegas Pro 16 does not fully support Variable Frame Rate.
Therefore, you will need to transcode your files in a utility (Handbrake or Shutter Encoder) to make them compatible with your Vegas version; or,
You will need to purchase a recent compatible version of Vegas, the current is Vegas Pro 20.
There are no other options for you that I know of.
Going forward, the following user information is required for additional peer support on this forum. Thanks for understanding, it will save a lot of guesswork and speculation.

Hi, I own the G15 myself. Nice little camera. The "hack" I mentionned does not require to have Quicktime loaded aside Vegas. The sole fact to download and install the app seems to solve the problem. At least, that's how it worked for me.
