I'm not sure why, but all of a sudden VP isn't automatically building proxies for me. I know there's a manual way to do it but I'm stumped on why this is all of a sudden happening. With my preferences set to AUTO and ON it makes no difference. Any suggestions?
Resetting Vegas to factory defaults will often clear up unexpected behaviors.
Check the state of this switch in Options/Preferences/Video
Set the threshold for creating proxies to lower pixel dimensions using Control+Shift+Options. Enter prox into the search box on the Internal tab.

Thank you, I already tried both "auto" and "on" option in preferences which didn't work. Strangely, either of those have always worked for me up until recently. I changed the pixel dimensions as you suggested and that seems to do the trick! Much appreciated.
