Wrong audio bitrate after rendering than in the settings - Vegas 16

domin45670 wrote on 1/14/2022, 5:25 PM

Hi :)
I am using MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 templates to render my video.
I am also using Encode mode: Intel QSV.
These settings seems to be fine for my computer and worked fine until today when I realised that audio bitrate can not be changed.
I have realised that even when I will change the audio bitrate then always in the rendered file there is 193 kbps or 194 kbps.
It does not matter if I will set the bitrate to 128 or 320 kbps. Rendered file is always about 193 kbps.
I have tried few ways to try solve this problem and I found that if I will use MAGIX HEVC/AAC MP4 templates instead of MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 then the audio bitrate is fine (Mainconcept AVC or Intel QSV).
Moreover, if I will use MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 template and use Mainconcept AVC instead of Intel QSV then the audio bitrate is also expected.
However, both solutions slow down rendering on my computer several times.
Is there any way to render a video using MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 template with Intel QSV and with different bitrate than 193 kbps?

Essential information:
1. Vegas 16, build 424
2. Windows 8.1.
3. Footage from cameras used: MiVue320, Panasonic Lumix FZ72, Samsung A7 cellphone. Input music: mp3, 320 kbps from YouTube library.
4. Delivery destination: Rendered to HDD. Will be used in YouTube.

Thanks for all your help.

Sorry, I'm not able to duplicate your observation on VP19. I just rendered a short sample with Magix AVC/AAC Intel QSV and set the audio tab to 320 Kbps, and I got 317. Maybe update your Intel drivers?

Hi Musicvid, thank you for your response :)

Unfortunately in my laptop (Dell Inspiron) every time when I tried to upadte graphis drivers, there was a lot of blue screens of deaths, resets and a lot of problems. Moreover, last year I've installed fresh Windows and I've tried to install the newest graphic drivers. New Radeon Graphics caused problems with Windows. New Intel graphics drivers also caused Windows problems and it was unable to work on it without suspending, unexpected restarting etc. So after few years of trying it it seems that new drivers for my laptop causes only problems. Dell did not provided any new drivers so I should find them manually.

I have edited my first message and added few informations.
I have also prepared some snips to show my Vegas configuration and to show my rendering settings.

I've checked it on a different computer with exactly the same Vegas version. It was laptop Thinkpad.
Exactly the same issue has been noted when I tried to use this template.

@domin45670

I dragged my Dell laptop out to do Windows, Vegas and Photoshop updates. (I'm not going anywhere, so I avoid using it.)

I suspect your issue was resolved in Vegas Pro 18.

The best solution might be to upgrade to Vegas Pro 19.

Based on my likelihood of working on a laptop or rendering with QSV, this is my last comment on the subject other than to question why you render video at variable bit rate and set the range to 32,000,000 / 32,000,000. Really?

That would be my suggestion too, assuming you are able and willing to upgrade your OS to a modern version.

Thank you john_dennis and Musicvid :)
So it seems that I should use the 196kbps or render using CPU only.
At this moment I have too old computer to buy a newer Windows for it :) Probably I will wait for newer computer with new Windows and then I will consider Vegas update :)

If it is absolutely imperative to have a bitrate other than 192kbs, encode an AAC file separately and mux in replacement audio.

Now that you have posted some of the essential information, it's easy to see that yours is a non-issue with respect to your Vegas' audio limitation.

You see, when you upload anything to Youtube, the audio is reprocessed to crap 128Kbps CBR. It makes not one whit of difference what bitrate you upload; the tail does not wag the Youtube dog, and 192Kbps will work just dandy.
