FayFen wrote on 8/14/2018, 1:58 PM

Once a week I go to http://www.videoaktiv.de/ and with google translate I read the news.

Today they came up with MAGIX Video Deluxe for 2019. So..

What is MAGIX Video Deluxe vs. VMS ?

Is MAGIX Video Deluxe totally different product?

Thank you

(* I still do not have VMS)

See https://www.magix.com/de/video/video-deluxe/ (or the respective /fr/ url). The same /gb/ and /us/ urls give you Magix Movie Edit Pro(s). I am not familiar with these products. I do have VMS(Ps) still.

Before Magix purchased Vegas and Movie Studio from Sony, it already had a line of video editing products. Video Deluxe is one of them.

Strange. It appears Video Deluxe is only available in some countries. I wonder what else us non German speakers are missing out on and what is the difference between Video Deluxe and Movie Edit Pro?

As far as I am aware, Video Deluxe and Movie Edit Pro are the same program.
Magix uses a different name for some European countries.

Thanks Derek. I've just discovered that after searching the Magix Community forum.

FayFen - while you're waiting for VMS16 so you can download another trial you could try Movie Edit Pro as Magix provide a 30 day trial. But if you have any questions you will need to raise them on the Magix Community Forum, not here which is for Vegas users. And yes I have played with MEP which has its good points and weak points. It didn't suit my workflow so I stuck with VMS which I still consider the best of of all the consumer editors with trial downloads that I've played with.

I have the same opinion as Eric. I even prefer VMS above VPro.

Thanks guys, Indeed I will try MEP2019 only to dislike it at the end. I hope to wait for VMS16 as I just can't imagine myself working without events selective attributes copy/paste.

We wait to see if this makes its way into VMS16 or whether Magix keep it as a "Pro only" feature. Personally it's not something that bothers me. If there's a special FX you want to copy to several other clips you can always save it as a preset. Same as with Pan/Crop settings. Have fun with MEP2019. Make sure you try Plus or Premium versions.

It's off topic, but this is sooo useful.

Vegas Movie Studio and Magix Video Deluxe are two completely different programs. Magix Video Deluxe and Magix Video Pro X are Magix own video programs that are still developed and distributed in Germany and some other countries.
At first I had Magix Video deluxe and then changed to Sony Movie Studio and Vegas Pro. I have not regretted this until today.
