NewBlue install "missing dll"

UKharrie schrieb am 11.03.2015 um 00:07 Uhr
Have SMS platinum suite v12, this came with NewBlue - but I never installed this.
Now, I've installed it and NewBlue appears in Text - Media Generator, but when this is placed on the timeline the Preview screen shows
"Error, Titler.dll is not found."
Tried Restarting the PC, - but no change.
Just a single "Legacy" NewBlue is showing - I must say - I was expecting a few more.
OS is Win 7 32-bit.

So far the remainder of the SMS program appears to work, but as dll files are somewhat crucial, I wonder how / where this may be fixed....?
On the Internet there are dire warning about attempting to fix missing dll files manually - and often specialist software is available ( funny that ).

Any thoughts ? .... I used the install as per the SMS Bonus Disc.

Also installed Magic Bullet previews, but not found them either . . . . would be nice if adding programs / features would bring up a splash page to introduce them...

You were advised to download and install the latest downloadable version here
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=12&MessageID=842568.
Read the last four posts.

I did follow that link, thanks - and I posted on it too. However, what should be a simple process appears to have been expanded into a nightmare - but my reading of the thread you suggested made me think it was a 64-bit issue and not the 32-bit version I use.

Additional info - NB did provide an (dot) exe download ( but not quite as the Sony thread ), However, that took 5mins to download and then appeared to be finished - yet nothing came of it - I could detect no changes - and since used SMS for Editing.

That thread- link from NewBlue has taken 7-minutes so far and I'm hoping it may be an improvement over their previous one.

Since the earlier NB (dot) exe did noting useful I queried it with NB - who promptly resent all the emails - but didn't ans the latest Q. which was:- "As it didn't do anything, why did you suggest it?"

There are 45sec remaining - I'll Post here - and await....

Results:
That Sony Thread (dot) exe - installed a whole raft of files once the SMS-NB Serial No. was verified - but I wasn't asked to insert the Bonus Disc - maybe it knew the software was already present...( from the earlier attempts with Sony disc ).... dunno.

Result-2 - Well on the face of it, it appears installed - at least running SMS allows me to place the NB-Titler on the timeline without Error Msg....Thanks vkmast.

( Perhaps that should be in BOLD ) - THANKS VKMAST-

Now the downside - getting it to work...I though reading how it works would be easy enough - but this is Software - the only World Product the User cannot fathom.
There is a Help button that takes you to NB website and this suggest Registration - ( Done ).... and several Titler Options,
The last one is how to use it...
Now, without my PC being connected to a 40" TV - I could not read it.. Who writes this stuff? and why is the Text so small? - You'd think ( Ho-Ho) that folks selling TEXT software would know about reading it.....but NO! it appears not.
I have had to photograph the TV and will enlarge the prints, to make a neat booklet which I can read at my leisure - i.e. before I attempt to use NB-Titler when there is a Time-Pressure for completing an Edit.
BTW, My PC monitor is just no help whatsoever... that's bad.

So for anyone with a desire to install NB-Titler on ( 32-bit WIn7 ) SMSv12 the link is on that Thread . . . . I used this...but DYOR....
www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Windows/NewBlueSonyVegasMSPPS12Setup14-131212.exe
....If someone else can confirm then this "should" become the preferred link....
Note to Moderator - If I'm mistaken, then delete the above link.

Lastly - with there being report of a "problem" why can't Sony and NB put their heads together and sort out a Fix-it reply which avoids ambiguity? -and whilst at it a neat Tutorial would be nice - I could put that on the timeline and see it on the Big Screen..... don't these guys want to sell their stuff....?

@UKHarrie,
sorry, I can't make head or tail of what you are trying to say in the post above.
Did you or did you not succeed?

As for MB QuickLooks, you'll find them in the Video FX tab of your MSP 12 32-bit, IF you installed the MBQL 32-bit version.
The manual zip file has "MagicBulletQuickLooks_UserGuide/English/Magic_Bullet_Quicklooks_SE_ENG.html". Look for it.

It seems that I was not able to make myself clear enough for you regarding NBFX and I'm sorry that I seem to have given you a nightmarish installation experience.

edit: I see you edited your post while I was writing the above. The link has been confirmed to be the preferred link by jetdv of NBFX in several threads.
And I've never had NBFX Support "resent" any emails.
Btw, Steve Grisetti, who's a long-time contributor to this forum as well, has a nice book on e.g. SMSP 12. Available also on your local Amazon.

I think I'll pass commenting more except "Search".

vkmast,

I think you were successful and the OP is now asking about how to use Titler.

To the OP - Check out Youtube - NewBlueFX publishes video tutorials to show how Titler works.

UKharrie, that installer was the last installer before Movie Studio 13 was released. It is true that an older installer did not properly install the 32-bit DLL file and the installer you liked will resolve that.

The newest installer for both Movie Studio 12 and 13 is build 140117:

Hi Guys:
vkmast- my post 11 March 2015
Line 12 - it appears to be working & thankyou
Line 13 Thankyou in BOLD
+a few minor edits

The Magic Bullet appears to have loaded an empty folder on another Drive, so I may take a while finding ( ye suggestions), what to put in it and then move it back – looks like a sloppy loading sequence to me – what would happen if drive K was not present?
Apologies accepted: - it wasn't that bad, just unnecessary as both Sony and NB have an interest in keeping customers sweet ( So they'll update, tell their friends, etc. ), it make me think they don't really care. Really discussions here albeit with folks - shouldn't be necessary.

I'm a fairly simple fella – if I'm told do //// - then I expect it to work after I do ////. The Sony Boxed-set should perform "out of the box" = otherwise what's the purpose of shipping card and plastic round the Globe?i

Mark655
- has it spot-on – will try YT, - but it's rather curious that a Text Software Co can't make their User Guide readable. Having spent much time with Camera+ WP I think I can understand many ins and outs ( and noticed a word-error. Ah,but since no-one else without super vision will read it, I guess no-one has noticed that. ).

jetdv
Thanks, yr info.- is what should pop-up as soon as anyone searches ( forum here ), for NB and SMS-PS.
Knowing the Build No and that it works for v12 and 13 is crucial . . . Otherwise, I would ignore software for a different version.... been caught before!
+Thanks.

Thanks to all.

@UKharrie
>>>I'm a fairly simple fella – if I'm told do //// - then I expect it to work after I do ////<<<
You did not, actually.
>>>I used the install as per the SMS Bonus Disc.<<<
See lines 7 and 8 below.
>>>The Sony Boxed-set should perform "out of the box"<<<
This should be a perfect world, but it still isn't.
If, back then you had actually read the last four posts in the thread I reminded you of in my first post (line 2 there), you'd have noticed this:
"The installation discs probably have non-working or outdated versions" (line 3).
(I used "probably" because I cannot know if the initial package was updated.)
cf. jetdv above: "It is true that an older installer did not properly install the 32-bit DLL file".
This has been advised previously on this forum as well.
Good to learn from jetdv that build 140117 can be installed for v 12 as well.

>>>Really discussions here albeit with folks - shouldn't be necessary.<<<
This discussion should not have been necessary.
Cf. line 2, lines 7 and 8 in this post.

"+ a minor edit:" >>>BOLD<<<
That's CAPS. This is Bold.
See 2. Sticky.

Apologies this time for ranting.

P.S. No problems in installing MBQL here, 32-bit and/or 64-bit.
