Nick posted clean uninstall directions here. Hope I've not got you barking up the wrong tree.

Is your system online (connected to internet) when you try to import the media clips into Vegas Pro?

@Marco. Yes. Via Ethernet, not Wireless

@Musicvid Kings to You! It was the "18. DISABLE SO4COMPOUNDPLUG (VP15 AVC / XAVC-S)" in Nick's "(FAQ) Troubleshooting Crashing and Stability" (a link within the link you provided). I disabled it per Nick's instructions and it now appears all my codecs are playing again. I still have to reload my third party plug-ins (New Blue Title, Etc.) and then render a project to be sure, but it looks like my current and major problem has been solved. Big Thanks.

Also, @Marco. @j-v. & @Eagle Six. Thanks for taking the time to read and help someone you did not know. I really appreciate your time and energy.

... spoke to soon. VEGAS 15 was working as normal. VEGAS 16 was not. Did the "SO4" trick and it now appears to be working as well.

In addition to the list above. Thanks to @NickHope

It could be so many things. My only thought, since I've owned a bunch of HP computers, is to consider getting a graphics card, especially if you're going to be doing a lot of video editing. I would think that even a GTX 1050 ti would be fine. That doesn't necessarily solve your current problem or explain why crashing now, but I'd be curious if the problem persists with a dedicated graphics card and current driver. Just a thought.

UPDATE: After resolving the original issue I found that I had a new issue in that Vegas would crash/shut-down when I clicked on "Render As". Step "19. DISABLE QSV" on Nick Hope's "(FAQ) Troubleshooting Crashing and Stability" post resolved this issue for Vegas 15. I'll report back if the same resolution does not work in Vegas 16.
