If you're interested in how Vegas Pro handles thread count, it was discussed recently in this thread. Andrew reported that he built a Xeon 16 core / 32 hyper-threaded machine. Ryzen may even slow down the encoding engine a bit. Once that's updated, the renderers and upstream filters will or will not be upgraded to use more cores over the coming years.
