sorry, i take it back.  I can get as far as the "DOWNLOAD" but nothing else.  it then re-directs back to MAGIX site.

i have bought V14, but we have 4 editors that are all working on the same project, and they already bought 13 with no intention of getting 14 (we have to move to premiere for post, because of Vegas's exceptionally bad AAF writing).

I would just use 14 but you cannot make the project 13 friendly again. LAME.

Does anyone know if VP13 (453) can be activated with the Magix (543) licence number?

Treating Magix product with caution after experience with VP14.   Currently using VP12 but took up the upgrade offer.

Each version number should have one and only serial number, even version 13 after its move to Magix.

Sony programs presumably contact a Sony activation server, so presumably Sony still handle the activation [Edit: No. See m2016's comments below]. I would like to know too.

Yes Nick. Isn't there any MAGIX say on the matter?

I guess Sony still does lots of OTHER software, so should be no big deal for them to keep the old Vegas plus registrations alive. Those servers take VERY LITTLE overhead and maintenance. When, I can, I'll try my older Movie Studio and see what happens. Kinda thought Magic inherited the whole old history of vegas stuff, but maybe not?

No that was just an advice to see who is making the registration/activation - you'll see that this will open a MAGIX website. Whether it is a Sony- or MAGIX branded version.

The server switch for the software registration & activation and other stuff happened just two days ago. Actually there are some last data preparation processes running at SCS and on our side before starting of the final migration of customer & product registation data.These processes are taking time... Yes, the same information. All serialnumbers & the whole registration/activation process were moved to MAGIX.

The process following to this was to assign each serial to a (probably all new) MAGIX Account automatically. This process is still ongoing... and can be shortcutted by registering it manually or just using the serialnumber in the product.

So to be perfectly clear on this, all the activation is currently happening with MAGIX and Sony has nothing to do with anything?
