The bundle offers some earlier versions including VEGAS Pro 22.

Great offer as at the moment I believe V22 is the best version.

I have check out the "system requirements" and such for the things in this bundle, but haven't found a definite answer to this:

--Will the software, especially Vegas Pro 22, operate completely offline?

My editing system has no internet connection available. I can do "offline activations" by passing a file on a thumbdrive to this computer and back to that, if necessary.

The computer itself is a fairly ancient HP dual xeon x5650 rack server, Windows10, (HP ProLiant DL380G6), 48gb ram. I don't expect they'll be fast at final rendering, but should be adequate for the stuff I'll be doing, AFAICT.

I have a webisode project I am beginning called Drywater, Mars

,

and this would be a great suite to do the video compositing with.

(the last video editing stuff I used was Premiere in the '90s, so I'm sure I'll have a lot to relearn).

@Amberwolf  ... From a Google search, I found a Vegas Pro 22 review which included the specifications:

https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/635658-magix-vegas-pro-22-all-in-one-video-audio-and-post-production-virtual

... which looks as though they are the specs copied from the then Vegas Pro 22 product webpage.

From Vegas Pro's support page: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support?question=106879&category=168278&title=software-activation-and-offline-usability :

  • After installation you are asked to activate the software by entering your serial number. This step requires an active internet connection.
  • Following the activation of the serial number, the program will be registered in your user account.  Serial number registration helps us protect our users from software piracy and grants users free e-mail access to our technical support service for a period of 12 months from the activation date.
  • After activation, the software will run also without an active internet connection!

Unfortunately, no off-line registration process is available to my knowledge - a topic that was recently an issue in a recent forum post but without an alternative to the online process being suggested.

Thanks--that one didn't come up in my searches. While it doesn't answer the connectivity question it does answer other questions I had. :)

I did find that, but since they have a newer version (23) there isn't a way for me to distinguish whether that applies only to the newer one or also to previous versions, based solely on what's on that page.

I guess that I will have to figure out a way to get an internet connection to that computer temporarily for the activation process.

Thank you for the info. :)

While I'm here I don't suppose you know anyone that would like to help finish creating a "universe", characters, and stories for the Drywater, Mars series? (it would go much faster with human help. ;) )

@Amberwolf Some of VP's codecs also require one-off activation when initially used. This, of course, also requires internet connection.
