Check that in the Options menu you haven't got "Mute All Video" ticked?

@e-r are you using the Trimmer? Right-click on the Trimmer window and see if you have "Select Audio Only" checked in the opening menu. Your screenshot looks like it is selected.

If this is the case, create subclips (right-click on the trimmed audio-only event(s) on the timeline and "Create Subclip") and import from the Project Media window using this method (Use the right mouse button to drag the file(s) to the timeline. When you release the mouse button, a context menu will appear. Select Video only > Add video across time.)

If you did not Trim, Open in Trimmer and Select Video Only.

thanks for tryin to help. "mute all video" is not selected. in the trimmer "audio and video" is selected. whatever i did, i can now post video and audio together again, BUT, i am hoping i can still add the corresponding video tracks that should be above my audio tracks. (without re-editing). i need a magic button to add the video where it shoulda gone when i unknowingly added just the audio. in case it matters, its movie studio platinum 13. u can see in the screenshot where the video track stops and its only audio. thats where i made my mistake...

thanks

The figure in your screenshot shows that you have had "Select Audio Only" checked. You may have "toggled selected stream: audio/video/both" (Shortcut "Tab") in the Trimmer. You can test it yourself if you right-click on the Trimmer window with a clip there. You see this with "Select Video Only".

My screenshots are from Movie Studio Platinum 13, Advanced Mode. Note also that you actually want the missing video events to the video track. An event is an occurrence of a media file on the timeline.

thank u for your time and expertise, i see where i screwed up now.

so when i "select video only", is there a way to get the video clips to show with the same inpoints and outpoints which are already there for the audio? i can add new audio+video clips now, but i am hoping to salvage my work - if possible-

My suggestion is in the second paragraph of my first comment. Might be best to practise with a short new project first to get it right.
