An internet connection is required....

Andrew-Dannatt wrote on 10/4/2020, 7:31 AM

I activated Vegas some months ago on my work machine.

I have now started Vegas to maker a video. I try to add a single clip and get an error saying I need an internet connection. I am fully connected. I do feel like I am wasting my time, when all I wanted to do was string a couple of videos together...

i'm having the same problem, but this time, it won't let me activate.

my sony vegas 365 ran out, but once i PAID FOR IT once again, im being met with internet connectivity errors despite my internet being perfectly fine and me had just reset the router 30 minutes ago.

i have an animation project to complete and i use vegas to put together my animations. im BEYOND frustrated. this has been going on for a full 24 hours now. they need to fix this. vegas is so buggy im considering no longer using it.

Are you sure that you haven't 'bought' from a scam/pirate website? Sony hasn't been involved with Vegas Pro for some 5 years. And back in Sony days they never had a 365 product.

If you have bought Vegas Pro from vegascreativesoftware.com, lodge a support request via:

yes, 100%, i bought it literally 6 months ago and wasn't having problems until yesterday. i'm unsure if my use of "sony" made you think i pirated the software, but i used the term "sony" because that's what i've been calling it ever since i used the trial for the first time a few years ago, and my friends refer to it as "SVP" and it's just easier for me.

the reason it ran out in the first place was because something with billing went wrong on my end, but it's been fixed and the funds have come out of my account. i sent in a support email yesterday, actually. do i still need to send in a ticket via the link sent?

Please don't use "Sony" or "SVP" when talking on this forum about the VEGAS software versions as of #14 and later. The VEGAS Team advises that they want to avoid the appearance of misusing a brand that isn't theirs.

Even a few years ago the trial version wasn't called Sony.

i've sent in a support request, i was just seeing if anybody had a fix or if this was a common issue. i'm very new to this kind of thing because i don't encounter errors very frequently, thank you and apologizes for any trouble caused :)

vkmast wrote on 10/4/2020, 8:45 AM

As you saw from the OP's post, the internet connection does seem to have an issue sometimes. We peer users have no way of knowing if it's server trouble or something else. So you've doing the right thing by trying to contact VEGAS Support. Thank you for understanding.

Like Dizzy I've logged a support ticket and will await further advice. Thanks all for their assistance thus far...
