This is not only a mind-blowing bargain, but the more I think about it, it is good marketing. This price allows almost anyone to get in on Vegas for virtually nothing, and then once they can use and appreciate it, then they are probably a lot more likely to buy a full version later, especially if that version offers additional features they are looking for. And since Magix isn't putting any dev resources into it, why not sell it at a massively discounted price and help a cause at the same time?
How does humble bundle work exactly. If you pay 25 dollars you get vegas 15 pro and thats it or do you have to pay for a humble bundle subscription or always be online etc.

So far I know, that depends on the package or the offer... They have a 'require to subscribe' offer, which are mostly free games... but for this Magix Humble Bundle, you pay $25 at minimum, to receive the package offered (so you also have Magix Fastcut, Sound Forge Audio Studio 12, Vegas Movie Studio 15, Vegas DVD Architect, HitFilm Movie Essentials plug-in).
It's yours forever... I did try it once some years ago, and received various Magix applications...
I do remember that I read in the forum about issues with upgrading from Steam version so I thought that Humble Bundle version is also non-upgradeable. I do not know for sure so I might be wrong.
Anyway, VP15 edit for $25 is excellent deal. I wish it would be VP16 Edit =)
I think they will only put VP16 on humble sale when VP17 is out. So buying VP16 would be a bit too late for me as I'm planning to buy the VP17. Not straight away for sure! Only when at least first update is released :)
From Magix Sales Dept.: "HumbleBundle buyers receive a standard serial number. They can register it in the MAGIX account. So, they can order an upgrade directly in the MAGIX Shop and authorize with this registered product. Steam customers do not have a serial number for the MAGIX account. So, they need to check if an upgrade is available in the Steam Store or contact MAGIX Customer Service (infoservice@magix.net) to receive a personally upgrade offer."
Sounds like a good way (upgrade path) to go about getting the latest/current versions of VP onto more than just 2 PC's, if one had a need for say three or four machines running VP.
