Audio not burning to DVD

I  have edited and rendered a video 81 mins long in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 which I want to put on DVD

I've followed the tutorials and used the bit rate calculator which gives Min 376000, Av 6264000, Max 7832000 and I've used a 15% safety margin (I'd previously left it as 4% and 10% with same result as below)

The rendered video is 3.68 GB  and audio 111 MB

In DVD Architect Studio I've set properties to 720 x 576 PAL and it says the project size is 3.87GB and bit rate is 6.922. The default bit rate is 8.000. I've tried with both changing the rate and leaving it as 8.000 and it gets to a point where it says the project is too big for the chosen media. Do I want to continue? Which I do and it burns the video and not the audio.

If it helps render time is around 3 hours and burn to DVD about 15 minutes. The PC is running Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Cre 2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz

I've gone onto Preview and it plays video but with no sound. Both video and audio files have same name and are in the same folder. If I click on Track Media it gives path to video file but says Audio 1 None

Do I need to increase the safety margin or is there something simple that I am doing wrong?

Which build of DVD Architect Studio 5 are you using? (See online (F1) Help > About...)

From the DVD A S 5 release notes: "Notable changes in version 5.0 (Build 156): Fixed a bug that prevented DVD Architect Studio from opening AC-3 Studio files rendered by Vegas Pro and Vegas Movie Studio software."

If that might be the problem, you'll find that one and the later builds here.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I haven't used it for about a year and it was working then but with smaller files sizes. The build is 150 so that seems to be where the problem might be. Not sure how to download the later builds. Sorry but a bit more help would be great. Have now tried downloading the latest build and it tells me it needs min of Windows 7 or 8 - this nightmare continues!!!!!!

Can't believe that these two Sony programs have this problem and one that I haven't found mentioned elsewhere

Did you download from Magix or from the link I gave you?

Sorry, my apologies - I was on the Magix site. Which build should I download?

Try build 186. http://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/dvdarchitectstudio5.0.186.exe

That's downloaded OK - thanks. I'll see if that solves the problem

Thaks again - it work no problem and my 93 year old is delighted.

However, it is worrying that two programs sold as part of a 'family' do not communicate properly. I can't be the only person who has ponered for days over what they are doing wrong and given up in disgust
