Background resizing

Hi everyone,
I am just about to burn a project to Blu-Ray and am designing the menu in DVDA 5.0.
I know in some respects it's illogical, but I would like to change the size of the background to the menu page, but cannot find a way to do it other than the "letterbox / zoom to fit / stretch to fit" options, none of which gives me what I want.
Is there a way to do this or am I on a loser here?

Create your background image in an image editor, whatever size you want.

Steve, I agree that the background options in DVDA are rather limited. I use Corel PaintShop Pro to resize and/or add effects to backgrounds (sourced from my own photos). Photoshop would no doubt do just as well but at a much greater cost of course.

Also, IF you want to change the size of your background media, right-clicking in the DVD A Studio workspace gives you the option to "open image in graphics editor" (choose that in Preferences). The "crop and adjust" option is available only in DVD A Pro.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I thought that might be the only option open to me. It would have been nice to be able to do it "on the fly" so to speak. What I'm wanting to do is use only part of a photo as the background (ie zoom in on that part). Thanks again,

I always use an image editor (usually Corel Photo-Paint, since I have used it for many years) to crop, resize, etc. I even resample to match the project resolution to ensure that the background will fit perfectly.

I believe in using the best tool for the job. I only use my Swiss army knife in emergencies.
