BCC Optical Stabilizer loses analyzed data

videobo wrote on 10/22/2017, 1:50 PM

I work with Movie Studio 13 and 14 respectively Platinum Suite. When I use the BCC Optical Stabilizer, this works in a first test run after analyzing, but after some time it seems to lose the data. Image stabilization no longer works.
A further analysis run is not possible or is not executed by the plug-in. If I remove the plug-in and add again, it still does not work even after a possible analysis. I must first remove the plugin, save the project ,restart MovieStudio and then add the plugin so that the plugin works again, but then again only for a few minutes.
Whether as Event FX or Media FX, I get the same faulty behavior.
Does anyone have a hint or a solution approach?

I'm not seeing BCC Opt. St. in 14 Pl or Suite at the software comparison table and maybe that is a plugin of an older version that is not working in version 14?

True. But "search" this forum bcc8_ofx.

I do not have the BCC Stabilizer, but maybe it is the same issue as with the built-in stabilizer in VP. If there is an audio track above the video track, there is no stabilization. If you push the audio tack under the video track and start a new analysis it works again.

Thanks for the advices.

To the remarks from @Cornico and @vkmast :

Its BCC Version 8.1 and came with MS 13 Suite. It can simply be copied or reinstalled to the MS 14 Suite Folder and it works. Anyhow, it has the same faulty behaviour in MS 13 as in MS 14.

I don't want to start a side topic but if the Vegas Stabilizer would be from Mercalli 2 Sony wouldn't had the need to add the BCC OS. I had the chance to test the Mercalli 2 stabilizer and its much better than the one from Vegas. "Powered by..." is a marketing phrase that can mean everything and nothing.

@matthias-krutz

Danke für den Tipp, wenn ich auf den Vegas Stabilizer ausweichen muss weiß ich worauf ich dann zu achten haben. :-)

Addition: I've already read this, and the advices for the stabilizer, but that covers not my problem: https://borisfx.com/release-notes/bcc-ofx-sony-vegas-pro-8-1-0/

I've also raised a ticket to the BorisFX support.

I've done some further tests with this problem. It looks like the BCC OS is more stable with 25 fps(PAL) than with 23,976 fps (IVTC Film), at least in my tests. When i set my project to 25 fps i'hd no problem so far.

Same here. I've had those BCC units from SMSS 13 in MVMS 13 P as well for some time.
