Box to edit position and size of inserted text media no longer visible

Hey everyone,

I am honestly losing it over this issue. This box (red box around sample-text in the image) has completely disappeared for me and I have no idea why. I have spent a good few hours looking it up on the internet but I don't know what the box is actually called so all I got were unhelpful search results.

I use Sony Vegas 13, but I also installed Sony Vegas 15 trial and this issue still persists, the re-sizable box is no longer available to me when I go to edit my text and it makes it such a pain to resize/drag-and-drop inserted text.

Yesterday it was working fine and today it's not functioning anymore. To make things worse, whenever I edit my text, it no longer updates in real-time in the video preview. Instead I have to close the edit window to actually see the edited text in the video preview screen.

I do not believe I have installed anything that would make this stop working, but even so I have restored my PC to a state it was in 2 weeks ago where the red box was still available, but nothing I've done has worked sadly.

Thank you for your time in reading and I really hope someone has the solution here!

Are you using ProType Titler in VP13 or something else? .. Looks like Sony Titles and Text .. never used this .. apparently it can be resized in the Preview screen .. I get the red box when I do that.

This might point to the issue mentioned here. There is another thread here related to that issue.

I'm just using the basic insert text media function

So after looking through those threads, I updated my Nvidia drivers but that didn't fix the solution and followed up with another solution from those threads which was to open Sony Vegas with an integrated driver and that has fixed the issue.

I'm not smart at all with computers and programs so forgive me if this is a silly question, but will the performance of running Sony Vegas on my integrated graphics as opposed to my GTX be a lot worse?

My integrated is Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 and my Nvidia one is GeForce GTX1070

Also a massive thank you @vkmast and @xberk for the responses!

There are suggestions re GPU use in the last 6 or so comments in this thread.
