Bug Report: BroadcastEventWindow.4.0.0.0 Error Message on Shutdown

JanitorP wrote on 12/18/2022, 3:12 AM

I'm sure this isn't anything to be very worried about as it is now, but it is a bug all the same so I figured I'd report it:

This error message pops up whenever I shut down/restart my laptop whenever Vegas Pro 20 (Build 214) was ran during the session. Other than that, it appears to do nothing more than just be a slight inconvenience whenever I turn off my system. If anybody happens to have a fix or even an explanation, I sure would like to know.

You might want to do a Google/Bing search re "BroadcastEventWindow.4.0.0.0" as there are quite a number of posts about this problem over the year, including this one with the same exception code as you have:

According to the above, the error message might be caused by a corrupt systems file.

I have gone through searches of this error prior to posting here, and even came across that same link. But in my case, this error literally does nothing more to my system than just show that message before shutdown. I've even done all the suggested fixes I've found, including running the Microsoft Framework Repair tool and the System File Checker.

Therefore the only reason I'm reporting it as a bug here is that the error only ever comes up after Vegas Pro 20 was booted up, which suggests some sort of incompatibility issue on Vegas's end. Because this never occurred with Vegas 18, which I recently upgraded from.

First of all, this isn't a scripting question.

Secondly, go to google and search for "Unmanaged Exception (0xe0434352)" and see if anything listed there helps.

Thirdly, contact Magix support and report this and tell them exactly what you are doing when this happens.
