Bug: Select event end messes up the preview

Kit-As-Was wrote on 11/18/2016, 8:50 PM

I like the ] shortcut to quickly move to the end of the selected preview but on my machine this seems to solo the preview. Ithen have to zoom in or out to see a preview of all unmuted tracks.  I've noticed this with V13 and it still happens with Build 201 V14. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks

I have no experience with using the ] shortcut.  So maybe I'm getting this wrong -- but I don't think this is a bug.  I think this is how that shortcut works.  It doesn't really "solo" the track because doing just about anything else brings all the tracks back into play again without any effort.   Imagine if it did not "solo" the track temporarily and ignore all transitions.  How could it show you the end of a particular event on a particular track?

Thanks for the reply, What I want it to do and expect is for it to move the cursor to that position on the timeline. I want it to show me that position on the timeline and not just a single track. Isolating the view to that single track is disconcerting and annoying.

Try CTRL+ALT+LEFT-ARROW or CTRL+ALT+RIGHT-ARROW. Takes you to the next edit on the selected track.

I see no view-isolating?!
can you upload a screenshot of what you are meaning?

If you press [ or ] it just shows you the first or last frame of the selected clip in isolation, without FX or opacity adjustments etc., until you cancel it with the opposite ] or [.

Yes, but that's all

Ithen have to zoom in or out to see a preview of all unmuted tracks

This is what I wonder about (or misunderstand)

The behavio(u)r of some shortcuts may depend on what keyboard layout you are using.

E.g. from SVP13 Help: "Enter edge-trimming mode and select event end; move to next event edge - KB shortcut

Numeric Keypad 9 or ]." The ] does not work for me. I'm using a non-English KB layout (and English v. of SVP).

Thanks for the replies. I'm using a Japanese keyboard. Ctrl+alt + right/left arrows is close doesn't move to teh end of an event if there is a crossfade.

That's normal. It moves the cursor left/right to event edit points (including fade edges). Think of it as a track control, not an event control. Just repeat until you get to where you want to be.
