DVDs are not hi-def. They are standard definition video by definition.

Hi-def video discs are BluRays.

You can burn a BluRay disc from a hi-def Vegas project directly from Vegas Movie Studio, but it will not have any menus. It will just be an instant-play BluRay disc.

If you'd like to burn a DVD or BluRay with menus, you will need DVD Architect Studio, which can be purchased individually or as a package with Vegas Movie Studio HD.

Tapper,

Version 11 does. Do you have a version other than Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11?

Though, as I've said, if you burn a disc directly from Vegas, it will not have menus. Just a movie.

If you have the basic Movie Studio HD, you should know this

Burning a DVD from the Timeline

I think you should consider getting the Platinum version. There's the fully functional 15-day free trial available.

See the comparison chart here

I'd look for upgrade offers. See what's available, e.g. here

Personally, I couldn't imagine producing discs without at least DVD Architect Studio! (And it's a mere $39 download!)
