Buying Movie Studio 12

I downloaded a trial version of Movie Studio Platinum 12 on the 31st December. I want to buy it but when I try to do so through the program it takes me to he page for Movie Studio 13 - this I cannot use as I have Vista (and I tried the trial version). I have gone back to the website but cannot find a link to version 12 (if it wasn't on my computer I'd think I'd imagined the whole thing). I contacted Sony through the website but no-one has replied.

Try a reliable online source. E.g. amazon.co.uk has MSP 12 Plat. Suite available at a very affordable price at the moment.
You can use the serial number you get from the package. The version in the package is probably an older build of 12 than your trial.
Btw, this link may be useful.

Yes, you cannot buy older versions from Sony. You will have to get one someplace else. When you do ... all you need to do is enter the serial number you get into the program that is already installed on your computer. Do not load that 'new' version.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. It seems odd to me that even if they don't want to sell older versions of their software at their store that they wouldn't have links to places to buy the older versions. Anyway - order placed with Amazon,
