same as I do in Audacity at least (remove noise, add effects etc) but without switching between two programs (1 edit audio+ 2 edit video) and saving and loading edited audio files
There are a lot of options, the two most easy are dropping audio on the timeline and put FX on it and edit further. Second is to record audio to the timeline and follow the same as 1
Look here how that goes

thanks a lot for nice instructional video but I know how to add audio to timeline but I had a different video editor so far so only editing audio in VP14 is a terra incognita to me ...
I was looking for this topic first in help files and official magix WWW but couldn't find the answer. Sorry for such simple question but after ca 1h I get a bit frustrated that official documenttion was not helpful in my case.
Imagine that you are familiar with editing programs and so far they were able to edit audio file just by clicking it. Now you first time open VP14.You try to do the same and ... you open a menu on audio file and program is asking you to choose an external program for audio editing.
what would you think ...?
I was searching for an answer but all I could find was an advice in help file to link an external program !
I was a bit disapointed but I tried a forum as a last resort. So please don't write advices like "read manual" cause I did it in a first place. OK ?

You can edit the audio in an external program if you want since some programs offer features or effx that Vegas does not have. But drag the audio to a timeline, click on the effx button and see what you can do.

It was first what I have learned but was not sure if pogram by itself would be able to edit an audio. My first impression is not good except for a community! I was using cyberlink for years(nearly all programs) and was satisfied with everything except space usage on my ssd and method of finding, selecting and sorting media files for project which is awful. Some day I wanted to move on a higher level and Vegas was so renowned for quality. So here I am.
There are several folks who use Vegas Pro for audio editing and mixing only, especially in the 5.1 area.
Great! You are giving me a hope. π Can you name one or give me a link to such posts. Maybe I can hear effects of their work... btw I have a sound lab from Magix as well but it does not seems to cooperate with VP in any way more then any other program does.
+Cornico thanks a lot man ! sorry for beig a bit harsh, but Magix doesn't mention such document when sells Vegas to a new user. Now I found one for a Steam edition and it is quite detailed. Why they doesn't add this with program ...? Most things are obvious for me cause I have some knowlegde but some aren't and then this document is handy.
The content of the Help files and the manual is more or less the same.
You say it. π But what is it, more or less or both? βΊοΈ
It's an English phrase. The content is approximately the same, but it's presented slightly differently because of the differing formats. Tym is unlikely to find something in the manual that isn't also in the Help.
