Can I Add ProType Titler to My Movie Studio Platinum 16 Suite? Advice?

Hello to this fine community. I love this forum and am most appreciative for all the knowledgeable contributors! I have read many posts here but I'd like to ask my question(s) myself.

Background:

I pretty well know Legacy Text and don't like not being able to change color within one event, and don't really like the way it works. I'd prefer something like a common word processor (Word) I upgraded to MS 16 and no Legacy Text was there 😕. I found a clever way to activate Legacy Text in MS 16 (but lost track of how to do it). Now I have Legacy Text, Titles & Text and NewBlue Titler Pro 7 Express (that came in my MS 16 Suite). Its nifty but limited. They are both cumbersome imho. I stumbled upon the fact that MS 16 PRO has ProType Titler (I don't know its version). Noiw my related questions... (short answers are all I really need)

Questions:

Can I Add ProType Titler to My Movie Studio Platinum 16... or is it (only) available in Pro?

Since I prefer titles using something like Word, is ProType Titler for me?

What is the best/most inexpensive way to get ProType Titler - wait for a sale on Pro 16? Is it in all Pro 16's or is it an option/separate add-on? Lastly,

Are there any drawbacks with ProType Titler?

That was a lot of questions, at least they are all related. Any responses I receive will be very, very much appreciated, really! I am amazed by all the nice/knowledgeable contributors here.

Dave

PS: I tried very hard to re-find the clever way to activate Legacy Text in MS 16. I simply cannot find it again. It was buried in Preferences/Options and then using Cntrl...?? I wonder if there is something else I can activate in my MS 16?

PS No. 2: I have NewBlue Titler Pro 7 Express... Is there a NON-express version that allows more customization? Yes I have lots of questions here; I hope not too many; at least they are all fairly-well related. Thank you all for reading all this.

Hold down Shift whilst clicking on Options/Preferences. This then displays the "Internal" tab along with the other tabs. Type in "Legacy" at the bottom to list legacy items that are still in MS16 Plat but normally hidden.

EricLNZ,

Thank you! I'm going to keep track of your info this time. That was nice of you. 😀.

Dave

Is there a NON-express version that allows more customization?

I have NewBlue Titler Pro 6 which is very powerful, does everything I need and more. However it's also quite expensive. Watch out for deals from NewBlue. Pro 6 has been out for some time now and they may be close to releasing Pro 7, so Pro 6 may be on offer in the near future.

The ProType Titler is in Vegas Pro since version 8 which was released about 12 years ago. So any Pro version since version 8 would provide the ProType Titler.

Occasionally there are HumbleBundle offers of Vegas Pro 15 for less than 30 bucks so you might want to wait for such an offer.

Marco (and others), Thank you very much for your information. All the info re tilters leaves me slightly confused.

Am I correct that the ProType Tilter in Vegas Pro 16 is different from NewBlue Titler Pro 7?

Am I also correct that NewBlue Titler Pro 7 does the same thing as ProType Tilter in Vegas Pro 16 and more?

In my MS 16 (not Pro), I have  NewBlue Titler Pro 7 Express. It is very limited. Is NewBlue Titler Pro 7 way, way more powerful and versatile than NewBlue Titler Pro 7 Express?

Looks like I wil watch the sales for Pro 16 with NewBlue Titler Pro7... if it ever comes included.

ProType Titler is a native Vegas Pro tool, NewBlue Titler Pro is a 3rd party plug-in which you need to purchase separately. Both are quite different, except they both offer titling facilities. ProType Titler is rather basic with a solid typographic background and some nice animation facilities. NewBlue Titler Pro offer lots of effect facilities like 3D.

@Marco: I am learning so much... and its info that is somewhat behind the scenes and thus not in all the internet links about them. Thank You! Just one more quick question please. In addition to all the 3D pre-configured'Hollywoor Blockbuster" titles, etc. Does NewBlue Titler Pro also have typographical/regular text entering capabilities on par with Legacy Text and Titles & Text? I.e., the ability to make custom titles with some words a different color/size as others (all in one event).

Thank you Marco, it is my privilege to ask questions/receive answers from a nice guru as you.😌

Thanks for your kind words, Dave-Anderson. In this terms there are a lot of those "gurus" here in the forum I learn from.

"Does NewBlue Titler Pro also have typographical/regular text entering capabilities on par with Legacy Text and Titles & Text? I.e., the ability to make custom titles with some words a different color/size as others (all in one event)."

I can't say for the NewBlue Titler Pro (see the link vkmast posted) but Vegas' Legacy Text will not allow to have different properties for single words or single characters inside one Event. ProType Titler does.
