As 3POINT has pointed out there is no "Sony" Vegas and there hasn't been for several years. Which build of Vegas 21 are you using and from where did you obtain it?
K-Lite Codec has been known to cause problems. You could try uninstalling it

Sorry I’ve been using Vegas since 9 so it will always be “Sony” Vegas in my heart. It’s Vegas 21 purchased from MAGIX during a humble bundle. It’s not a cracked copy.
side note I actually figured it out. I needed to download a “ut video” codec which allowed it work after I installed it
