can't open the .exe

I have a brand new macbook air, I bought this app only to figure out that the installation file is .exe? (Note that they branded this video editor as MAC/WIN) but whenever I click the download it opens a new window and I can't extract the file because it's an exe. seriously regretting this purchase and even considering returning if it's an option.

everywhere I researched said this was a reliable mac/win editor. Now that I look at the website I wish I would've made sure it said so. thanks for all your help!
