Can't seem to have vegas on 2 pc's

Raphael-Medeiros wrote on 10/7/2022, 10:14 AM

Everywhere i read it seems i'm able to have vegas in 2 devices.
I have one PC at work, and one at Home. I installed it on the PC at work first, when i tried to use it at home a few hours later, vegas told me i already had it on another device and i'd have to deactivate if i were to use it on another device, thats great and all except it says i can only deactivate once per month, so obviously that won't work as i use it at work and at home on a daily basis. :(

What can i do here?

It's making my life much harder only being able to edit during work hours

Further info:

They will not be used simultaneously, after i leave work i always turn off my pc

I have the Vegas Edit 365 Subscription

@Raphael-Medeiros The subscription version only allows 1 PC. The perpetual version allows 2.

Can't you deactivate more frequently within Vegas vs the website?

"9. How many computers can I use VEGAS Pro on?

You can use VEGAS Pro (14.0 and later) simultaneously on 2 devices. VEGAS Pro 365 can be used on 1 device at a time.

To deactivate a device, so you can activate a different one, visit your MAGIX account > My Products > Show More Details > Deactivate. This option can be used only once a month.

In VEGAS Pro 14.0 or later, you can also choose Deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu. This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required"

I read that in the FAQ, however the part where it says "This option can be used as often as you wish." the issue is that i cant do it as often as i wish, as it states it can only be done once a month

Oh... I hadn't seen that anywhere, that's a real shame since i do the editing at both computers everyday, (i move the files from home to work on an external ssd)

I'm not sure how i'll proceed then

You did this from the help menu in Vegas?

Ignore my last post. I confused myself with the answer. To deactivate the software you do it directly from the software itself, i was trying to do it off of my magix account, thats where the once a month limit was coming from.

I've got my solution, i only read the FAQ poorly. My apologies everyone.

My apologies, i was doing it off of magix that's why it was limiting me, off of the software i seemed to be able to deactivate with no issues, thank you!

@Raphael-Medeiros, each evening you would need to use the menu options in VEGAS to deactivate on that machine. Then you would need to activate at home. When done at home, you need to deactivate using the menu options and would then need to activate again the next morning in the office. You'll have to do that every day.

Two other options:

1. Buy a second subscription

2. Change to a perpetual license that will let you activate on both

It is only if you have to go to the website to deactivate that it can only be done once a month. If you do it through the VEGAS menus, it can be done as often as you wish.

Yeah i had been doing it through magix's website and thats where the limit was coming from, deactivating it from the software before leaving work everyday shouldn't be an issue, just have to set an alarm!

Thank you !
