Classic Visual Theme

Hello Guys,

I have been using this software for 12 years, and first of all, I would like to say "thank you" to developers for the great product you make. Started back in the days of Sony Vegas 6.0, or something like that :)

Recently, I upgraded from Movie Studio 10 to 14. Love the speed at which the new version renders the videos and the quality of output, but for the editor itself, I do have a small question.

Version 10 used to have that Classic option for the look and appearance of the editor. Was that option discontinued somewhere between 10 and 14? I was not able to find it in the 14. This is not critical to me, but I do miss the square buttons, clear colors and a Windows 95-2000 feel. The dark theme is usable, but the Classic one was my favorite because of its clarity and simplicity.

Sincerely,

Ilya.

If the OP is referring to the Vegas colo(u)r scheme option, it was removed from v,14 "due to a current limitation of the new interface."

The new interface certainly has a current limitation with its lack of contrast with highlighted icons making it difficult to tell whether something is activated or not. Black against dark grey is pathetic. But it's not just Magix. Other software is doing the same. It seems to be the modern trend.

PLEASE, please Magix can we have an option to select an alternative colour of our (the User and your Customers) choice to make MS14 easy to use instead of a frustrating experience.

Thank you. I can see that hard-to-read colors have been a frustration for a few people at least. Hopefully, developers take note :)

ilya, did you see the dev team member's recent comment towards the end of the thread Cornico linked to.

Magix Movie Edit Pro appears to have light blue highlighting for its icons. A pity the Movie Studio developers couldn't have done the same. Presumably our developers never actually do any video editing on Movie Studio so don't realise what difficulties they are creating for users/customers. Yes I realise I'm starting to sound nasty but it's starting to really irritate me.

Some of you also use Vegas Pro. What colour are the highlighted icons in that?

Thanks. It's a lot better Cornico but then the background isn't dark grey. It would be great if MS14 had the blue coloured highlighting with our dark grey background.

This gets even more interesting. The Magix product pages with screenshots of MS14 show the icons highlighted in BLUE!

An interesting find, Eric.

Those images were taken with an early build of Movie Studio, which we had to provide to marketing ahead of time before we were able to alter some of the blue highlighting.

So the product pages are somewhat inaccurate in this respect. I'm sure the Marketing Dept. does not want to lead potential buyers astray and will proceed accordingly and correct this?

Or better still change it back to blue in the next bug fix.

Why on earth was it changed from blue to black anyway?
