"Click okay to restart installation transfer" loop.

I recently purchased Vegas movie studio 17 Platinum, and got the dreaded message when attempting to install -

"An error occurred during transfer which caused the installation to stop. This problem can most likely be fixed by restarting the transfer of the installer application. If you experience further problems, contact the MAGIX support: http://support.magix.com

Click "OK" to restart the installation transfer."

I've taken down the firewall, and antivirus, as well as restarted the computer and still it gives me the same error message time and time again. Any suggestions?

Are you installing from a disc or download?

@EricLNZ Download

I'm having the same issue with Vegas Pro 14.

Using the download from Magix site, registered with my serial.

Downloaded the installer a few times - Running as Administrator, ample space on the disk.

Installing all components or any combination of these three; Vegas Pro 14, Music Maker, Update Notifier - I get this message;

"An error occurred during transfer which caused the installation to stop. This problem can most likely be fixed by restarting the transfer of the installer application. If you experience further problems, contact the MAGIX support: HTTP://support.magix.com

Click "OK" to restart the installation transfer"

and clicking OK just repeats this message and doesn't progress.

If you are using Chrome try a different browser as Chrome has given problems for some users.

Generally, this applies: "Download links will [/may] NOT work in latest version of Google Chrome - they will be blocked. To download program updates, please use Firefox, Edge or Opera web browsers OR right-click download link, select Copy Link Address and copy into a New Tab, then enter to begin download." And be sure to check Task Manager that there are no VEGAS processes running.

I appreciate the responses - I was using Chrome but I've downloaded the file in Edge, and Firefox and get the same result.

There is no indication there is a problem with the installation file when its downloaded and they're all identical in size (4,528kb)

Could it be something to do with how the installer works? It obviously connects to a server so is it possible this is being blocked somehow?

I did try Chrome, Edge, Explorer and Firefox. I did get it to work as it was not a browser issue atleast in my instance. Mine was due to, for whatever reason, outdated firmware on my router.

As i posted in another reply but wanted to reply to yours directly; "I did try Chrome, Edge, Explorer and Firefox. I did get it to work as it was not a browser issue atleast in my instance. Mine was due to, for whatever reason, outdated firmware on my router."

The issue, in my opinion, is when the Vegas installer is running, it is not connecting to the server it gets its information from correctly, or it is simply failing due to an issue with the installer itself.

I'm not sure why my Vodafone router would have a problem downloading an installer from one particular site due to firmware but if that worked for you, great. This may not be an option for me as my broadband supplied router doesn't require any firmware updates.

Should you be using it, Windows Defender has also been known to cause problems.

Whitenoise wrote on 4/14/2021, 5:10 AM

Windows Defender is a real-time antivirus, if that was the issue, the installer wouldn't run at all.

The installer runs, but I get an error from the installer as it attempts to download what I've selected to install.

I just need to install the software I own - please can I get some advice on how to solve this?

Whitenoise wrote on 4/27/2021, 6:52 AM

I've solved the issue. The issue was relating to the download - not with my hardware or OS setup.

Since the help went dead, I won't bother putting the solution here either.

I'm just going to avoid Vegas software in the future - pretty disgusting they do not offer real, practical help with installation issues.

I feel yall... even with the updates Vegas is so behind in the industry..they got work to do.
However, install the Testversion and then just enter your license key, ur welcome <3
