Chienworks in 2008: "The layer break point is where DVD Architect splits the video up between the two layers of a Double-Layer disc. Since a single layer disc only has one layer, there is no need for, and indeed cannot be, a break point."

With DVD-DL you will need a chapter marker for DVDA to use as a layerbreak. When you attempt to burn the disc it will stop you and ask for a layerbreak point in the form of a chapter marker. It will even tell you where to put it with time codes - especially useful when you're using over 99% of the DL disc like I have done before.

After you burn the disc I would suggest ripping it with imgburn and saving the .cue file (layerbreak file) as well as the .iso file for future burning on imgburn on the fly.
