Cookie cutter feather effect not rendering

I am running Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12.0. I have put a cookie cutter effect on some clips, with the feather setting on to blur the edges.

The blurring is visible in the Preview window when I am editing. But when I render, the feather effect disappears in the Preview window as it is rendering. When I play the rendered file (mp4) the rendering is also not visible.

I have tried different output formats, but each time the feather effect is not seen.

Is this a bug with v12.0?

Which build of MSP 12 do you have (see Help > About...)? If it's an early build, see if updating to the last build helps. http://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/moviestudiope12.0.1184_64bit.exe
