Crash when import videos taken by Google Pixel 2

Hi,

Just bought VEGAS Pro 15 and was excited to start using it. However, it crashes whenever I tried to import a mp4 video taken by Google Pixel 2. I also tried other videos taken by the phone, they all crashed.

Movie studio 15 (Build 146), Fastcut, VEGAS Pro 15 (Build 416) all had this problem. There was an update for Fastcut, and the issue was resolved after update to version v.3.0.3.111. However, the other two still have the issue.

My OS is Windows 10 Pro 1809.

Video card: GeForce GTX 1070

Could anyone advise how to solve this problem?

This file works fine here in Vegas Pro 15 and 16 and Movie Studio 14.

Did you try disabling GPU acceleration in "Options/Preferences/Video"?

Works here as well in all the apps the OP mentions (Fastcut v.3.0.3.111). OS Win10 1803.

Works here fine with VMS15 Build 157. It's using "So4compoundplug" but unlike a previous recent problem it makes no difference whether QSV is enabled or disabled for decoding.

En, I tried to disable the option, but the issue still exist. Basically when I click on the mp4 video to import (I think it tries to read in the file information), it crashes.

I renamed the "So4compoundplug" folder, now I am able to import the video. I think the issue is caused by this plugin.

I followed this post https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/avc-xavc-s-issues-in-vp15-try-disabling-so4compoundplug-dll--108345/ and disabled the new decoder so4compoundplug.dll that reads AVC and XAVC-S files. Now it works. Thanks everyone.

Hopefully this issue can be reproduced on other computers and get fixed.
