Crashes on open

Fresh install of Movie Studio 17 Platinum 17.0.179. Click on the icon and the program starts to load and crashes when it is at "Setting up I/O" it sends an error report to Sony but I never hear anything back. I have removed the program and reinstalled it - same problem. Just for good troubleshooting...I even did a fresh install of windows and then installed the Movie studio...Same problem. Any ideas?

Indeed, because Sony has nothing to do with Vegas Movie Studio or Vegas Pro these days.
Magix is the owner since some years.
It should have been better to publish the error here on this forum.
BTW what is exactly your used hardware for VMS 17 Pl?
