Yes it crashes everytime I start vegas and simply click on render as. Yes it occurs after I reboot also. Everything works great except render as, then crash.
I used to have movie studio 8 and it worked great. Now I have returned pro 13 as it just plain doesn't work. I'm am above the requirements. If pro 14 doesn't have any problems let me know and I'll buy that otherwise I'm shopping now for something similar to pro 13 . Bummer
There is this utility called Speccy. If you could load that, and then do a File>Save Snapshot or Save as Text File, then upload the snapshot file or cut and past the summary section from the text file. That would help the community see the details on your hardware config.
I would push all windows updates, including .NET updates.
Reboot and Run and SFC /scannow from an admin command line. You should get a clean report.
Create a memtest86+ boot disk and check the memory past a full pass with zero errors.
Try loading the trial of VP14 and seeing if that works better.
Most laptops are bought for price, make sure your system has the best RAM the laptop will support. From my research that looks like DDR3-1600, maxing out at 32GB. Get an SSD if it does not have one yet. That will be about all you can get out of that thing.
I just bought this a few days ago and this is the first time I've tried it and it's not working at this point 100%
After seeing demonstrations of software and am impressed with it, I move to the next step in deciding to choose software, which is to read widely on forums, such as this, then the next step is to compare the specifications of those having success AND, more importantly, those NOT having success. Make a Table comparing my specs with successful and not successful VP13 Users. Comparing, as you said, Movie Studio 8 performance on your PC to that of VP13 is not useful. Since using MS8 what has changed on your PC? Your system specs and updates to elements of your system required to make VP13 to work. How much space on drives do you have? Are they topping-out? Is your RAM size and speed sufficient for the job? What you are reporting is possibly that your PC is straining to cope.
The next step is to download a DEMO and test it on my PC. Did you? Did you do your research and comparisons and try it out prior to buying?
Purchasing software is a big decision. Purchasing NLE software that is highly dependent on the PC, like VP13, is truly the final link in the decision-making process to buy.
Please supply us with more information so we can help you. If you don't, and speaking for myself, I'm in the dark.
