When I try to open a video file to start a project, all I see is the "Vegas Pro has stopped working" screen. Just upon clicking or right-clicking on the file. I tried reinstalling, same problem. Any help?

There should be a veg.bak file in your project folder (assuming you know where your project folder is) Vegas creates a .bak file ever time you save your project... If that file is corrupted as well, Look for a backup in your temp folder, usually C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\15.0 .. should be something with autosave.veg.bak ..

The Help item re "Automatic project saving"

Does the OP get any error report with problem description / fault process details?

@xberk @vkmast I mean opening a video file, such as a .mp4, not a project file.

Never mind, I fixed it. Just had to open it after a few hours.
