Did you get a serial number for the "17 Pro"?

And the standard support advice re error code -14.

Yes, that's correct. The program has been requesting me to do an update for a month or so. I finally accepted it. When I opened the program I had to log back in and register it. I used my email address and the same serial # from when I purchased it. I got the green check mark next to both. Then I hit "Activate and Register online immediately" and it gives me the error code -14

Can you tell us which program you actually updated to? A "Pro" program would most likely need a separate serial number.

My VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum (last update/build 223) keeps trying to sell me an "upgrade" to Movie Studio 2022 Platinum, which is a totally different program.

Vegas Pro 17

And did you get a legit serial number for that software? What was it that "instructed you to do an update" to an EOL program? The current version is 20.

Yes. It's the one from the box when I bought it

If the party you bought the software box from is a legitimate reliable reseller and the serial number was a valid one from MAGIX, you could try contacting Support.

Unfortunately there are many online vendors offering cracked or pirated copies of VEGAS.

I appreciate the advice. I bought it at Target. I went there first but they suggest to post in the forum. Thank you again or your time
