Difficulty transferring old version of Vegas - 5.0 - to new computer

Hello - I use a (very) old version of Vegas, yes it's Vegas 5.0... for tons of audio projects and I want to be able to transfer it to my new computer. I transferred all the files using PCMover but when I try to open it, Vegas says it needs to be reinstalled. This is a registered product in my name but I no longer have any original discs for installing the software. Does anyone have a suggestion for what to do? Thank you.

Yes, for most programs to work you have to install them again instead of just copy the files. There's other things installed that they need. Here's a link to 5.0d that appears to work:

Please try here: https://web.archive.org/web/20160630020014/http://download.sonycreativesoftware.com/current/vegas50d_bld194.exe

That link came from here: https://web.archive.org/web/20160630020014/http://download.sonycreativesoftware.com:80/current/

Alternately, you might try putting your serial number into your account at www.magix.com and there may be a download provided for you there.

I did actually find an installer for 5.0d on one of my old laptops. It's 41.9 meg and my download says build 193.

You could also try MAGIX Download Center. Link here section 4.

Yes! It's working now, thanks to that download link - and seems to have accepted my serial number. Thanks very much for all the help.
