Do I keep EDU licenses after I finish my studies?

Baskeh wrote on 2/24/2023, 4:34 AM

I could not find a dedicated category for vegas above version 17 so I'm posting here instead, my apologies.

Hi,

I'm a student and want to purchase a license for Vegas. I've got about 5 months left until I finish my studies and after I'm not continuing my studies for at least a year. So, I was wondering if I get to keep my license after I finish my studies? Do I need to pay extra after? Does it matter how much of my studies I have left?

Thanks!

I guess you need to ask Magix as we are a user forum here.

(Intel 3rd gen i5@4.1GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, 1080Ti GPU, Windows 10) Not now used with Vegas.

13th gen i913900K - water cooled, 96GB RAM, 4TB M2 drive, 4TB games SSD, 2TB video SSD, GPU RTX 4080 Super, Windows 11 pro

I did initially but they said to ask here instead..

?? They said ask here? Really? We don't work for Magix. We are users of the product just like you.

I am pretty sure the official Magix support and sales team would not have stated that.

I was suprised too, but they really did!
A forum moderator redirected me to a post which included a link for this forum. I have included the link to my post below.

That post is also a forum post and responded to by a forum moderator. You need to ask Magix Support. Not a forum post.

https://www.magix.com/us/support/

or:

infoservice@magix.net

I think that the initial post was in the Magix forum? And mentioned is Vegas, so the OP was directed here instead of magix support.

Try emailing infoservice@magix.net (as advised above) or academic-team@magix.net (as advised here. It's an older document but still listed in the Support section,).

Thank you all for your replies, I did not know that this was a user only forum.

I emailed the Magix support team and it turns out that it does not matter how much time you have left of your education. As long as you have a valid student ID on the day of your purchase you should be good.
