Maybe you all know what that means but w SERIF MOVIE PLUS they have this feature whereby you select, "tv safe borders" and it puts a red frame around the edges of your video so you can what edges might be cut off when viewed on a tv.

Yup I searched the manual and videos but could not find anything on this.

Does SONY have the same feature?

I would think it would.

Thanks

Click the down arrow next to the Overlays button above the Preview window to select Safe Areas, click the Overlay button to deselect.
From online Help
"Safe Areas "
Click on "What's This?", then drag the ? on the Preview window and click to get context-sensitive Help e.g. on this.

In DVD A, View > Workspace Overlays.

Thanks. Wow!

The area that is lost is quite large??

I am surprised.

Glad I asked!

Vegas is quite conservative in this respect. On my old CRT TV only about half of what Vegas indicated was outside the picture frame. On my new LCD TV, i only lose a few pixels at most.
