Why are there so many files covering my entire desktop the moment that the Vegas movie studio platinum software is downloaded on my computer? Is there a way to restrain those files to make up one particular file?
Why are there so many files covering my entire desktop...
That's the developers' decision. It's most likely meant to help a new user as Movie Studio versions are more "consumer-oriented" than VEGAS Pro (which has no tracks as default).
And you probably mean the five-track default layout of VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum. You can delete tracks and start with a clean timeline. The tracks are created when you add files.
You can also delete tracks and "save as" your "default project" the empty project and start with that. Create a shortcut for that on the desktop. Remember to then save it with a different name so you don't lose your default.
