If you did not use any "buy VP 17 + get VP 18 free" offer, you need to purchase VP 18 separately. Your VP 17 serial number is eligible for the upgrade pricing.

The promo was part of email, and this is part of my account page info ... perhaps someone from Magix can weigh in... Purchased V17 April 2020 and V18 was released July 2020. I am subscribed to the newsletter, but received no additional notice on the 'new version of software that I will receive for free. Also, update feature is not showing a new version available within V17. Ref: https://www.magix.com/us/support/update-service/

" All new features and extras for 1 year Stay ahead, all year long: We'll continue to optimize and develop software that includes the Update Service and add new free features and extras. So when you use our software, you're always working with state-of-the-art technology. If a new version of our software is released within a year, you'll receive it for free! Benefit from free features and extras for a full year. To keep up-to-date after the Update Service has expired, you can extend it for a discounted price.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ABOUT THE UPDATE SERVICE: How will I know when new features are available for my version? You'll receive a notification by email or directly through the program any time new features and extras are made available. Subscribe to the newsletter Where can I find information about the latest updates? You'll find details about all the new updates, features and extras on our product websites at www.magix.com. So it's worth checking the website regularly. How do you install the new features? In most cases, you'll find the update feature directly within the program. PRODUCTS INCLUDING THE UPDATE SERVICE: The Update Service is a sign of our commitment to continuous innovation. This is why since 2016 our new versions have no year attached at the end. Instead, all software is released with a 1-year Update Service. "

VEGAS Support starts from here. (If the FAQs don't solve your issue/s, ignore them and keep clicking on, describe your issue when asked to do that and click again until you get to send/submit a Support request.)

Please note that Updates to a newer build of a version are free, but Upgrades to a newer version are not, except with special offers such as the one mentioned in my earlier comment.

@Keith-Dera
as you are able to read what is on that added site on the bottom that that offer is not for Vegas products, but only for these ones of Magix itself

I did see that and reached out to Magix for further clarification. A bit misleading - lets see what they say.

Please note also that MAGIX Support is different from VEGAS Support.

The update agreement for MAGIX products is not the same as the one for VEGAS products. A purchase of VEGAS Pro 17 in April of 2020 would not entitle you to VEGAS Pro 18, which was released in August of 2020. At the moment, the purchase model for VEGAS which most closely resembles that MAGIX model is VEGAS 365, which is our subscription option.

Thanks for the update. I will keep Vegas 365 in mind for future purchase.
