DVD Architect 7

PeterH wrote on 4/23/2019, 5:44 AM

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct area but I recently purchased Vegas 16 and would now like to upgrade my DVD Architect 5.2 to Version 7.

Is there an upgrade path for this software? I can't seem to find anything.

I also don't seem to find a payment method via PayPal. Is that not an option?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

If you purchased Pro 16, 365 or Suite you would have got DVDA7 with it. Did you purchase Pro Edit?

I purchased Pro Edit.

If you dig around on the Magix software site you may be lucky to find DVDA7 as it's there somewhere. But when I last looked it's price was ridiculous. It was cheaper to buy Movie Studio Platinum which comes with DVDA7 than to buy DVDA7 on its own! Likewise the difference in price between Pro Edit and Pro is less than DVDA7 on its own!

PS: DVDA7 is here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/dvd-architect/

Thanks for the help Eric. It looks like I'll have to fork out the extra for DVDA7. It doesn't look like there's an upgrade price either.

The main reason that I'm interested in purchasing DVDA7 is because my version of DVDA5.2 is crashing during the preparation of the Bly Ray project. I see that a patch has been made available which seems to fix this error.

At least I'm hoping that it's been fixed.

Cheers.

I guess you could download the trial before and see if it works really better?

I thought of that but will the trial allow me to actually prepare and burn a disc?

@PeterH which build of (Sony) DVD Architect Pro 5.2 do you have? The last (Sony) build was #133 and according to the release notes: "2.0 What's New > Notable fixes/changes in version 5.2 (Build 133) > Fixed a bug that could prevent Blu-ray Disc projects from preparing in some circumstances."

I think http://dl03.magix.net/dvdarchitectpro52.exe should give the last build, though it seems to be rebranded by Magix.

My build is 124. I'm going to check it out now!

Thanks for the info!

I downloaded the file but it seems to have a problem. It refuses to extract. Is there anywhere else I get this file?

Thanks.

And the last Sony build seems actually to be #135. https://web.archive.org/web/20160402233546/http://dspcdn.sonycreativesoftware.com/current/dvdarchitectpro5.2.135.exe
