DVDA 5.2 doesn't read markers

Hi,
I used DA 5.0 for years. Recently I bought SV 11.0 and got DA 5.2 too.
I usually import mpg files created with SV, but since I got SV 11.0, DA (neither 5.0 nor 5.2) doesn't read markers I got in Sony vegas project. Any ideas what is the reason? When I render file in SV 9.0 or 10.0 and import it to DA 5.0 it works fine. but rendering mpg file with SV 11 and importing it to DA just means I need to make all marker manually again...

When you render to MPEG2, Vegas also creates a small file with the same file name and a further .sfs suffix that contains the markers. This file must be present in the same folder as the video file in order for DVDA to find the markers. Don't change the file name stem because the video file name is imbedded in the .sfl file. (Have a look at one with a text editor).

I have a feeling that marker info used to be (or still is) imbedded in the MPEG file and DVDA used to read it from there. If so, this is no longer the case with later versions of DVDA, perhaps because .m2ts or other files can't imbed such data and SCS made the procedure standard for all files.

Sebastian,
did you check "Save project markers in rendered media file"?

Peter, the markers for MPEG/MPEG2 and AC3 have always been, and still are, stored in an external .sfl file.

Hm, I don't think I checked it :) So probably that's the reason, SV 9 and 10 didn't have this checkbox and I propbably didn't notice it - thanks a lot.

I believe both VP9 and 10 also have that checkbox, but it's much easier to miss in 11 :)

The default before Version 11 was checked.
