DVDA 7 re-renders MAGIX AVC BluRay

For years I've rendered in Vegas and dropped the files into DVDA to author optical discs. I've done this with both AVC and MPEG and after establishing a workflow, never given it much thought. I've only recently moved to Vegas 15 (261) & DVDA 7 (67) and was surprised that DVDA wants to rerender the AVC files I create with Vegas.

This applies only to files rendered from Vegas as MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 (using the Blu-ray 1920x1080-50i, 25 Mbps video stream template). AVC files created using the Sony AVC/MVC (Blu-ray 1920x1080-50i 16Mbps video stream) and MainConcept MPEG-2 do not re-render.

Is the Magix template not ideal for BD in DVDA, and if so, why not provide a template that is?

Mp4 files aren't part of the Blu-ray specs so I'm not surprised they are re-rendered. But you say the template is Blu-ray which is confusing. I only have VMS so cannot check but something appears strange.

I've no idea why I typed mp4! It's the MAGIX AVC/AAC option. Sorry for confusing the issue. Mediainfo confirms It's ac3. Indeed the only difference I can see between the files produced using the Sony AVC and Magic AVC in Mediainfo is the bitrate..

Dratted autocorrect! Mediainfo confirms it's AVC not ac3

Tried rendering with MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 1920x1080-50i, 25 Mbps video stream template, constant bitrate (Mbps) customised 28. DVD A 7 gave a warning (only):"the bitrate is greater than 28 Mbps", but "Recompress (video) No". Then tried variable max 28, avg 25. DVD A 7 had "no messages to display". AC-3 audio included.

Now back at computer (briefly) and yes indeed it IS described as MP4 so no effort on my part. Thanks for testing vkmast. So it seems the default template for Blu-ray, at 25Mbps, does not work well with DVDA. Sure, I can create another preset (which I will do) but one might have imagined Magix would create a template that works well out of the box with the companion product.

I have a similar problem and I can't get the MAGIX Blu-ray (1920x1080-24p, 25 Mbps) with Max and Average both set to around 18Mb/s (same) to work with DVDA7. It always tells me to recompress.

It works only when I don't use the NV Encoder with my Nvidia GTX 1080. It works fine with the Mainconcept AVC encoder chosen (doesn't ask to recompress). But that makes my render time go up by 2x.

My source is just a JPG for testing.
