DVDA Back Button Color Change

Twin Peaks wrote on 3/25/2010, 1:34 PM
I have done a search on this but cannot find an answer. I am working with DVDA ver. 2.0 (I know it's ancient but it works great). I want to change the color of the back-button (arrow shape) that is put on page 2 automatically when the insert menues option is initiated.

The button is always a light blue and I need to change it to red or green.

I have tried the Color Sets without success. I have done everything I can think of to change the color of the button but without success. So I have come to ask if anyone here can help me with this issue. Thanks, Nick

Color sets are for sub-pictures (highlights and subtitles -- information that's encoded on a separate "layer" from the graphics). That arrow is an actual image file that's kept in one of DVD Architect's menu themes. The blue one you're probably looking at is in the Default Theme. Check the manual / online help for info on working with themes.

Alternatively, select that back-button, go to the Button window, and double-click one you'd rather use instead. to replace it with one of the other included graphics.

Rob,
Thank you very much for putting me on the right trail. I could not access the arrow button in question through the themes and the buttons windows but you got me to thinking about the file name of the object. In the Project Properties window it identified the button as "Default: Back-Button-Shape.png". Using MS Explorer I went to the drive where Vegas and DVDA reside. I drilled down into Sony DVDA and found a file named, "Default20.thm". Bang, there sat the light blue arrow in question.

I copies that arrow graphic over to Adobe Photoshop Elements and made several copies of different colors (red, white, navy, etc.) and saved each to the Default20.thm file.

Next: I brought up DVDA, selected the Menu option, loaded on a piece of video, selected the Insert Menus option, went to Page 2 (Select Scene) there was the light blue arrow, went to the Project Properties window, clicked on the Default Back-Button-Shape line, selected the browser for the object, and I got the list of different colored arrows I just created and saved.

I selected a red arrow, at random, and bang-o it appeared on the Page 2 menu of the project. Exactly what I had wanted.

I know this is a lengthy explanation but I wrote it out just in case anyone else might desire a change in the back-button's color and is at a losss as I was. But, now I know thanks to you. Thank you again.
This has really made my day. Nick

No need to double-post, Anthony. If someone knows they answer, they will respond.

I did explain that it was an error not a deliberate double posting. You are scolding me in the very same week that I ordered your DVD Arch book from Amazon, arriving tomorrow.!
