Error 14 - Cannot Activate My Vegas Pro 21

Jai-Barrow wrote on 7/13/2024, 1:54 PM

So I want to install my Vegas pro 365(21) on my new PC but it keeps giving me the error 14 that the number is either wrong or used for something else. I also learned I may need to deactivate it from my old PC first, however it gives me the same error message and refuses to deactivate. So I'm stuck, I tried the serial number from my email which worked the first time but now does not. I thought uninstalling Vegas on my old PC mite sort things but to no avail. This is on a annual contract, and when I bought Vegas it was 20, but got later updated to 21 if that helps at all. Thanks.

The standard Support advice re error 14 is here.

But please see also if there's something in the FAQ quoted below that may explain the issue.

From the main FAQs Post item 9:

"How many computers can I use VEGAS Pro on?
You can use VEGAS Pro (14.0 and later, perpetual and SmartScription licenses) simultaneously on 2 devices. VEGAS Pro 365 can be used on 1 device at a time.

To deactivate a device, so you can activate a different one, visit your MAGIX account > My Products > Show More Details > Deactivate. This option can be used only once a month.

In VEGAS Pro 14.0 or later, you can also choose Deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required."

Perhaps I didn't explain, but I've tried all of this. My Vegas is not on my products but my contracts and there is no deactivate option. I tried deactivating from Vegas 21 itself and it gives me the error 14.

Perhaps you registered Vegas using a different email address, This would account for it not being listed in 'My Products', The log-in email address you use for this forum could be different than what you used to register Vegas.
If all else fails, request a support ticket or try emailing Magix customer service at: infoservice@magix.net
