Have you checked the status of your activations on your MAGIX Account?

Yup, I registered in originally when I first downloaded it. I went back in and used the link for download from the magix site (instead of the Amazon site) and it came up with the same error when I tried to install it again. Went back into the Magix site, deactivated it on the only machine it had listed, tried reinstalling it and it gave me the same error

Currently, the account shows that none of the serial numbers are in use.

So there is apparently a a box that needs to be checked on a Windows 10 machine in order for the proper updates to be made to Windows 10 to allow for video editing software to work (I'm sure its more than that, but that was my only focus). Here's how I fixed it- with some help:

Control Panel --> Programs ---> Tunr Windows features On/Off ---> Click box sayin .Net Framewrok 3.5 ---> Click OK---> Restart computer ---> wait for it to turn on again ---> reinstall software ---> kiss wife for good measure and in gratitude for extreme patience

Guess it was just that easy, because when I reinstalled it, it worked just fine.
