Error 41 on Vegas 9

Hi .
I've used my copy of vegas studio platinum 9.0 on several computers as I get a new one (always uninstalled from the old one). After having sluggish response from my new Win8 machine I thought I would uninstall and reinstall to see if it helped but now I'm getting code 41 and cant register. Is there a way round it?

If upgrade is the only option I think I might bail to another solution, I've been pulling my hair out too much with this one recently.

Error 41.
You could also try new Live Chat available for general support, sales questions, and registration assistance.
Closed on weekends though.

Yes, I found that in the FAQ and tried contacting support, but I got a message to say that VS9 is no longer supported, try the forums!

You probably got that answer from Tech support. Try to get to Customer support and they'll reset your activation limit for you.
