Error Code -59, no license to use software?

Howdy. I bought Vegas Pro 15 Edit on Steam. I get error code -59 every time I launch it, "no license to use this software". I've used it last year and the year before, but all of a sudden, I can't use it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it on the same computer, cleared the registries for Vegas, and I tried installing it on a fresh, new Windows laptop, and it does not work.

Since I bought it through Steam (and not the website), I can't seem to get any official support from MAGIX or Vegas. This is super frustrating. If anyone's had a similar problem or has a solution, please do let me know.

good grief. That worked. I swear I followed that to a T, but it only works unless someone tells me to do it, ha. Thank you, thank you, very, very much!

@vkmast Hey I have the exact same issue but for Movie Studio 15, i purchased the hardcopy of amazon but used the serial number to download it from /download link shown on the S.N paper that came in the box. Would this work for me as well?

Maybe not. If you got any error code, please do a Search about it on the forum, e.g. "error code -59" (quotation marks included!) for possible suggested Support or User solutions.
