Error Message While Rendering

Rosalina wrote on 12/31/2023, 3:20 PM

Hi,

When I went to render my video I got an error message saying the following:

"This serial number has already been registered to another email address. Please contact MAGIX support.

Error code: -24"

Any help? I need to get a video finished before next year and there is no way to call anyone to get this done faster. I bought it off of Amazon and it was sealed.

I couldn't understand "First, please check your entered e-mail address for possible typos", and I am using the same email I entered

Then it's fine as long as there are no typos (mistakes).

@Rosalina If you are still struggling please clarify:

  1. What did you buy from Amazon? The software name and version number
  2. You mentioned it being sealed which suggests it came in a box in which case what was in the box. A CD/DVD, or a voucher to redeem at the Magix website where you could download what you had purchased
  3. From where did you obtain your Serial Number? From the box or supplied by Magix?

I don't get why it tells me it won't render in that case

It would be helpful if you would provide specific answers to the questions raised by EricLNZ in a comment just above.

Problem is I have a very hard time understanding things that are too complicated for me. A family member bought the program (I am 20 but still have family members), I don't have the info.

RogerS wrote on 1/1/2024, 6:35 PM

If it wasn't bought from the Magix/ VEGAS Creative Software store on Amazon it may be fake/ a scam giving you an already used serial number.

You should at least be able to answer things like the version of Vegas as it says it upon program start up!

A family member bought the program ...

Yet in your original post you wrote:

I bought it off of Amazon and it was sealed.

Regardless of whether you purchased Vegas Pro from Amazon or a family member did, it seems that you have been editing in that program. In order to edit, you would have to have already created an account with MAGIX in order to register and activate Vegas Pro - this must first happen in order for the program to be accessed even if a legit Vegas Pro program has been purchased on Amazon.

Did you first register/activate Vegas Pro using a MAGIX account before you were able to edit in Vegas Pro (this must be within your knowledge)?

If you did, then go to My Products in your MAGIX My Account and double-check the serial number under the Vegas Pro entry to make sure that you are using the correct serial number.

If you did not first register/activate Vegas Pro via a MAGIX account in order to edit in Vegas Pro, then sadly it looks like you have a pirated copy of Vegas Pro. If that is the case, consider purchasing a legal version of Vegas Pro 21 via the MAGIX Vegas website: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/?_ga=2.34439649.1562069070.1668563166-702914177.1667974548

I don't think that is from the official store as it's too old (if purchased recently). It may not be legitimate, contact support.

How do I do that?

From that "error -24" advice::

"If the seller was a retailer, please inform our sales department about the serial number and send a copy of the purchase receipt as an attachment to your request."

Try emailing shop@magix.net and explain your issue.
