getting error message about licensing

I just purchased Vegas Movie Studio 16 last night have installed and registered it. When I try to open the product I get an error message that says "An error occurred starting VEGAS Pro. There is no license to use this software." I have entered serial numbers correctly and received confirmation that I have purchased the products. Not sure what to do!

Did you purchase your version from a reliable 3rd party source? Any error code number shown?

I purchased it from Amazon. No error code number showing, just the message about no license.

thank you for the suggestion. I have actually followed that process and just keep getting looped back to the technical support page to start over. The "digital tech" comes up that says to type in the problem but answers are generated and none of them apply to my problem. I can't even get the "digital tech" to recognize the software I'm referencing.
