Group-change length of stills??

jammer134 wrote on 11/11/2017, 1:18 PM

I have about 100 stills on my timeline and have already did all the crop and color adjustments to them all. Is there a way to select all the stills and force them to be a specific length? Right now they are each 5 seconds long and I want them to be each 8 seconds. I could do them all by hand, but is there an easier way to select them all and say "make all 8 seconds"?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you! Is there another method besides stretching the timeline?

I liked to use the good-value tool Still Motion by VASST.

@Cornico Image Source: Timeline

One cannot buy VASST FasstApps ATM though and they do not work in the latest versions ATM.

If done how Cornico suggested, open (in VPro) Edit Details and see Length update as you Ctrl+Drag.

Today I also use Vegasaur for it. I did not know the group event method yet. Thanks.

It did not work first. You should have Ignore Event Grouping turned off ;-)

@Cornico has what JohnnyRoy posted recently now changed??

vkmast wrote on 11/12/2017, 3:07 PM

Actually it's not about PA only, huskereurocat asked about FasstApps. See the comments right above there. I do see that you have e.g SM in VP 15. I don't have them in MSP 14 or VP 15. Maybe your install in VP 14 has something to do with this, I don't have that. But I'll continue this in the other thread.

vkmast wrote on 11/12/2017, 5:03 PM

Did you try to download them from the link in Johnny's post I gave?

Yes.

vkmast wrote on 11/12/2017, 5:49 PM

As FasstApps do not seem to be version-specific (excluding SCS/Magix transition), the version modified for VP 14 (and installed) is carrying over to your VP 15 (Just speculating). But "Unfortunately, I did not use the label widget for text so when VP15 went to the much darker UI, the apps now have black text on a dark grey background which makes them unreadable". Your VP 15 screenshot kind of confirms the "unreadable" part.

@vkmast and others...

Sorry for the confusion. I keep the VASST Software downloads page up to date with regard to version compatibility so there should be no question of what versions of Vegas Pro and Movie Studio are currently supported for each of the VASST plug-ins:

http://vasstsoftware.com/download/

Just to recap that page:

FASST Apps support Vegas Pro 9 - 14 and Movie Studio 12 & 13
All other current plugins support Vegas Pro 8 - 15

We are working on adding support for Vegas Pro 15 and Movie Studio 14 to the FASST Apps as well as fixing the black text on a dark grey background for all of the plug-ins. This unforeseen UI change is what's causing the delay but the work is nearing completion.

Hope that helps clear things up (if not, ask more questions).

Thanks jr. The confusion is due to the screenshot in Cornico's 3rd post above :)

Cornico, "FASST Apps support Vegas Pro 9 - 14 and Movie Studio 12 & 13". Your screenshot is from VP 15. "We are working on adding support for Vegas Pro 15 and Movie Studio 14 to the FASST Apps"

I have FasstApps in my VPs (10,12,13, not in 15, I do not have 14) and in MSPs 12, 13, not in 14. What you get is a reason for me to assume that their install in VP 14 enables them in VP 15.

vkmast wrote on 11/13/2017, 12:00 PM

Yes, to me it is confusing that they open in your VP 15 and in one of your MSP 14, even though they are not supported...😎

JohnnyRoy wrote on 11/13/2017, 4:06 PM

@vkmast and @Cornico I see the confusion... so allow me to explain:

When I say the FASST Apps support Vegas Pro 9 - 14 it is because the installer doesn't recognize Vegas Pro 15 yet. If you have Vegas Pro 14, the FASST Apps will continue to work in 15. But for my customers who are purchasing I can't say that they work in 15 only if you buy 14 first so I have to say that they don't support 15 when, in fact, it's only the installer that doesn't support 15.

This is why you see Still Motion running in Vegas Pro 15. If you only had Vegas Pro 15 and tried to install it, it will not install. This is part of the update that has to be made with every new version of Vegas Pro and Movie Studio. If MAGIX doesn't change the Script API, they will support Vegas Pro 16 although they will not install if you only have Vegas Pro 16 until I update the installer to recognize that version. ...and so it goes.

Thanks jr. It does confirm my assumption, which was "install in VP 14 enables them in VP 15/the version modified for VP 14 (and installed) is carrying over to your VP 15".

You can also use the built in View>Window>Edit Details tab in Vegas. I drag the length option to be at the front and save it as a preset. I keep it open and use it all the time.
